Summer of Soul offers an exciting lineup of events celebrating Seattle’s Black culture, history, and community in Seattle’s Central District.

We kick off the series with our Black Wall Street event which celebrates the legacy of the once thriving African American business district in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Through a range of activities and discussions, we will examine the impact of Black Wall Street on the wider Black community and the ongoing struggle for economic justice in Seattle as well as our country.

Next, we have Juneteenth. Join us for a day of music, food, and education as we honor the resilience and resistance of our ancestors

Soul on Water is a unique experience that combines the natural beauty of the Puget Sound with the soulful sounds of local musicians. Join us for as we enjoy all there is to experience in sight and sound at Pier 62 with live music and take in the breathtaking views of Seattle’s skyline.

Finally, our Reunion on Union event celebrates community and culture in the heart of the Central District. Join us for an afternoon of music and local food as we connect once again to the rich roots and history of our existence and to those who have laid the groundwork for us to continue to build traditions that last generations.

Whether you’re a long-time resident of Seattle or just visiting, the Summer of Soul series has something for everyone. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect with community, celebrate culture, and honor our shared history!
